In Vida, we are introduced to two Latina sisters, Lyn and Emma. Emma (played by Mishel Prada) and Lyn Hernandez (Melissa Barrera) returned to Boyle Heights, in Los Angeles, after the death of their mother, Vidalia—known as “Vida”—only to discover that she had been keeping secrets.

These two characters offer new representations of Latinas, while also tapping into stereotypical traits we’ve learned this semester. Provide a character analysis of these two Latinas, focusing on how they embody stereotypical Latina traits, but also how they challenge or break away from characteristics that confine Latinas.

Write a one page response. Double-spaced, 1-inch margins and 12 point font. You must submit the assignment directly to Canvas.
